On Friday 10th June 2022, Cristina Vargas, an English teacher born in New York and working for Burlington Publishing house, came to visit us once again and gave our students two different talks.
1st & 2nd ESO students talked about A trip to London. They all took a trip around London and visited some of the many sights this great city had to offer including the Tower of London, the Houses of Parliament and Madame Tussauds. They also visited Sherlock Holmes’ London and discovered the origins of the British police. Moreover, students also learnt about British money and the best places to shop and eat.
3rd & 4th ESO students took a glimpse of English around the world. They all went beyond the boundaries of the UK and looked at some other English-speaking cultures such as Australia, Canada, India, and Jamaica. Cristina asked them some questions by answering quizzes and learnt things they didn’t know, for sure!
We spent a wonderful morning with Cristina and teachers participating, as well as students, who could always practice their English skills.
What would be the topic for next year’s culture classes? One thing we surely know, we’ll have a blast!.
